Charlotte’s Unforgettable Photography Experience - In her own words:

“I found Jo at an RSPCA day in Chichester, West Sussex. Before I'd even booked in to the event I just had to find out more about these incredible animal portraits! They took my breath away!

Jo came out for an introduction to meet my animals and get them used to her and to run through the options. I chose the package I wanted and couldn't wait to see the results! I wanted an Autumn theme, in a spot which was sentimental to my dogs.

When Jo came to take the pictures it was actually more straight forward then I was thinking! My cat LOVED being the star attention and Jo was very patient whilst I gathered everyone into the right places and followed Jo's directions! (Couldn't believe it when she was laying on the wet floor!).

Jo went off and worked her magic on the photos and booked another appointment to come out and show me... Oh my goodness it was so emotional! The pictures were more than I could have ever wished for.

To capture my two old dogs was the best thing I could have done. The way both of them are sat together in the place they love is everything! I had tears.

For anyone wishing to capture their babies I would 100% recommend Jo. She's kind, honest and patient and a true artist. I will treasure these photographs forever. Thanks Jo!”

WHAT DOES JO DO?

I’m an outdoor photographer based in Chichester, West Sussex, with a passion for capturing animals in natural settings. While I specialise in photographing dogs, I’d be truly honoured to create beautiful portraits of any beloved family member—whether it’s a playful pup, a graceful cat, a majestic horse, or even a quirky bearded dragon!

I pour my heart into every session, treating every animal as if they were my own, taking time to understand their unique personality. My goal is not just to capture a beautiful image but to create artwork that truly reflects who they are—their joy, their loyalty, and their soul. See Jo’s photography and retouching style below:

what motivates jo?

I am dedicated to delivering more than just a photography session—I also create an experience that my clients will remember as an event where they got to celebrate thei love they have for their dog or pet. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing my clients' emotional reactions when they first see the portraits I’ve created of them

The tears of joy that often flow as they see their dog’s personality come to life in a stunning piece of wall art are moments I cherish. It’s a beautiful reminder of how deeply our animals are woven into our lives and how much they mean to us. This is why I do this

This is what Isobel thought of her photography experience:

“Joanna provided a lovely personal service from beginning to end. We really enjoyed the experience of taking the photos, and our dog enjoyed it too.

She did not pressurise us at any stage of the process and we have the most beautiful pictures of our precious pet. Would highly recommend.

FAQs

  • My experience in canine behaviour and positive reinforcement techniques allows me to work confidently with dogs at all training stages. While some may need leads or specific accommodations during our session, my expertise ensures these supports remain invisible in your final portraits—creating stunning images regardless of your dog's comfort level.

I find special joy in creating beautiful photographs for families who believed their dog's energy, strong will or lack of training, made professional portraits impossible. Your dog doesn't need to be "perfectly behaved" for perfect portraits—they just need to be themselves, with my gentle guidance making the experience positive and stress-free for everyone.

  • Absolutely. Jo frequently works with animals exhibiting these behaviours, so there’s no need to worry. She volunteers at an animal rescue and is experienced in photographing anxious or reactive animals. Jo will take the time to assess the needs of the animal and adapt her approach to ensure their comfort throughout the session.

  • Rest assured, your furry friend's unpredictable moments are what make them special! My sessions are deliberately relaxed and stress-free, and with my experience in animal behaviour and specialised posing techniques, I can usually work with even the most energetic or shy dogs to capture perfect moments.

In the rare case that your pup is having a particularly uncooperative day, we can simply reschedule. I never impose strict time limits—while most sessions achieve beautiful results within 1-2 hours, we'll take whatever time your dog needs to shine.

My only goal is to create an unforgettable and enjoyable experience that produces stunning portraits and wall art you'll cherish for years to come.

  • Absolutely! If there’s a particular location that holds special meaning for you, I’d be more than happy to photograph there.

If you're unsure about which location you would like to use for your session, I have a range of beautiful spots I regularly use, including woodland, beach and urban settings.

  • Absolutely Yes! Whilst most of my amazing clients prefer not to be in their portraits, I love capturing the bond between animals and the people who love them!

Others prefer not to have their portraits shared publicly and I always respect this. I will never feature family portraits on my website without the explicit permission from ALL involved.

  • This is obviously quite a common occurrence in the UK!! So, if it’s raining, we will reschedule to a mutually agreeable day and time.

  • I create bespoke, in-person photography experiences tailored specifically to you. My carefully curated products stand apart from standard studio offerings.

While not the cheapest option, my service delivers breathtaking portraits and wall art that consistently exceeds expectations. Clients repeatedly tell me the value far outweighs the investment—many even shed tears when first seeing their artwork!

I'm so confident you'll love your portraits that I offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Transparent pricing is provided upfront, with product guides available before booking. Most clients invest £600-£2000, though I design experiences for every budget.

  • I would absolutely love to photograph horses, and is something I’ll be actively pursuing in 2025.

If you have a horse, can travel to a local woodland location, and are interested in receiving a COMPLIMENTARY photography session, please don’t hesitate to reach out for a no-obligation chat!

  • No, I don't. While it's true that the majority of my photography sessions feature dogs, I love to work with all kinds of animals and their owners. I have numerous cat portraits on my Portfolio page and would love to capture other pets as well!

You never know—yours could feature on my Portfolio page! I’d be thrilled to connect, so please feel free to reach out.

Jo was so professional and brilliant with our 9 month old puppy.

We had a wonderful experience, Babs was a star and we are so delighted with our very professional photos.

I'm sure we will do it again as she grows and maybe with our daughters dogs!!

That will be a challenge as there will be 5 of them.

I know Jo will get the best out of them though!!

Thank you so much Jo

Jo was very professional from the moment we started the journey of getting our rescue dog Tango photographed. Jo chose a great location and was so friendly and patient with our boy he was totally at ease with her.

Jo took every stage of the photo shoot at Tango’s pace which had a calming effect on my husband and I.

The photos she took were fantastic and very cheeky! I would recommend Jo 100% for anyone wanting a great photograph of their pet.

Thank you Jo!

We had a wonderful experience with Joanna. Our dog loved her immediately, and she was mindful of not invading his space. This made our dog relaxed and happy during the photos, resulting in natural-looking, rather than staged, images.

We had great communication before, during, and after the shoot, and felt everything was professional and friendly.

The photos are incredible and truly captured our dog's nature; they look like they were plucked from a fairytale movie!
