What Andy said:

“Absolutely brilliant! Jo is caring not only to her customers but for their pets too. She took time to get to know my beagle Ruby and we had a great meeting before arranging the photo session. She talked about what to expect and how the session would work. On the day we met at the location I had chosen, we had a good couple of hours where Jo made sure Ruby and I were comfortable, nothing was too much trouble.

The outcome and photos are beyond what I expected and are simply beautiful. Highly recommend Jo- 5 stars. Thank you.”

Have you ever found yourself thinking…

“My dog’s too wild for photos and has to stay on lead”

Jo often photographs dogs on lead, whether for safety reasons or because their training is a work in progress. However, her portfolio page doesn’t reflect this. Your dog can remain on lead for the entire portrait session if needed; Jo simply retouches it out of the artwork afterward.

"I’d love photos of my pet, but life’s just too busy”

The process is surprisingly quick, so it won’t take too much time for Jo to create some beautiful artwork that you can gaze upon and treasure forever. Portrait Sessions last for an hour or so and collectively you’ll spend no more than 4 hours with Jo, spread out over multiple weeks.

"I have no idea how much dog photography costs”

This is a very common question, especially where bespoke artwork is concerned. The answer is probably less than you think! With payment plans available, most of Jo’s clients invest between £600 and £1500 on their wall collections. Some spend more, others less so Jo will work within your budget.

Whether you’re in West Sussex, Hampshire, or Surrey, Jo is here to offer a bespoke dog photography experience that’s as personal and meaningful as the bond you share with your pet — helping you turn those feelings into beautiful artwork for your home.

What’s included:

  • A Consultation

This is your chance to really share exactly what makes your dog special, and what Jo simply has to capture. It’s a chance for everyone to get to know each other a little bit, ensuring that the resulting photography is absolutely perfect for you, your family, and your home.

  • A Portrait Session

It’s time for your personalised 1-2 hour photography session at your preferred location where Jo will capture more than just simple snaps. Effortlessly capturing those special expressions that make your dog unique is what Jo does best, and all that happens right here.

  • A Design Consultation

Together, we will choose artwork that enhances your walls, creating personal and timeless pieces that also suit your home and budget. Jo is there to guide and advise on aesthetics and finishes, but it’s your choice entirely for which images go up on the wall.

  • A Complimentary Print

Without any other investment being made, every Portrait Session includes an 8” x 6” mounted print. That means that there is zero pressure to purchase any additional artwork alongside the archival Fine Art paper print you receive from our photographic printers.

More About Jo

I’m an outdoor photographer based in Chichester, West Sussex, with a passion for capturing animals in natural settings. While I specialise in photographing dogs, I’d be truly honoured to create beautiful portraits of any beloved family member—whether it’s a playful pup, a graceful cat, a majestic horse, or even a quirky bearded dragon!

I pour my heart into every session, treating every animal as if they were my own, taking time to understand their unique personality. My goal is not just to capture a beautiful image but to create artwork that truly reflects who they are—their joy, their loyalty, and their soul.

What Motivates Jo?

I am dedicated to delivering more than just a photography session—I also create an experience that my clients will remember as an event where they got to celebrate the love they have for their dog or pet. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the emotional reaction when clients first see their breathtaking portraits.

The tears of joy that often flow as they see their dog’s personality come to life in a stunning piece of wall art are moments I cherish. It’s a beautiful reminder of how deeply our animals are woven into our lives and how much they mean to us. This is why I do this!

What Charlotte said:

“I found Jo at an RSPCA day in Chichester, West Sussex. Before I'd even booked into the event, I saw her incredible animal portraits and just had to find out more about them! They took my breath away!

Jo came out for an introduction to meet my animals and get them used to her and to run through the options. I chose the package I wanted and couldn't wait to see the results! I wanted an Autumn theme, in a spot which was sentimental to my dogs.

When Jo came to take the pictures it was actually more straight forward then I was thinking! My cat also LOVED being the star attention and Jo was very patient whilst I gathered everyone into the right places and followed Jo's directions! (Couldn't believe it when she was lying on the wet floor!).

Jo went off and worked her magic on the photos and booked another appointment to come out and show me... Oh my goodness it was so emotional! The pictures were more than I could have ever wished for.

To capture my two old dogs was the best thing I could have done. The way both of them are sat together in the place they love is everything! I had tears.

For anyone wishing to capture their babies I would 100% recommend Jo. She's kind, honest and patient and a true artist. I will treasure these photographs forever. Thanks Jo!”

FAQs

  • Absolutely. Jo frequently works with animals exhibiting these behaviours, so there’s no need to worry. She volunteers at an animal rescue and is experienced in photographing anxious or reactive animals. Jo will take the time to assess the needs of the animal and adapt her approach to ensure their comfort throughout the session.

  • No problem at all—your dog doesn’t need to be perfectly behaved to create perfect portraits. With years of experience in canine behaviour, positive reinforcement, and gentle posing techniques, I work confidently with dogs at all training stages, from excitable puppies to shy or strong-willed companions.

Whether your dog needs to stay on lead, take breaks, or just be themselves, my calm, flexible approach ensures a relaxed and enjoyable session. Leads and other supports are easily edited out afterwards, so the final images focus entirely on your dog’s personality—not their training level.

In fact, I take special joy in photographing dogs whose families thought professional portraits would never be possible. Sessions are never rushed, and if your pup is having an off day, we can simply reschedule.

  • No, I don't. While it's true that the majority of my photography sessions feature dogs, I love to work with all kinds of animals and their owners. I have numerous cat portraits on my Portfolio page and would love to capture other pets as well, especially horses!

You never know—yours could feature on my Portfolio page! I’d be thrilled to connect, so please feel free to reach out for a no obligation chat.

  • Absolutely Yes! Whilst most of my amazing clients prefer not to be in their portraits, I love capturing the bond between animals and the people who love them!

Others prefer not to have their portraits shared publicly and I always respect this. I will never feature family portraits on my website without the explicit permission from ALL involved.

  • Absolutely! If there’s a particular location that holds special meaning for you, I’d be more than happy to photograph there.

If you're unsure about which location you would like to use for your session, I have a range of beautiful spots I regularly use, including woodland, beach and urban settings.

  • This is obviously quite a common occurrence in the UK!! So, if it’s raining, we will reschedule to a mutually agreeable day and time.
