How Voluntary Work with With A Dog Shelter Can Make A Difference
Images from my original Facebook post
I’m proud to volunteer my time photographing animals at the RSPCA West Sussex Branch at Mount Noddy. I share their portraits along with a short bio on my Facebook page to help spread the word about Mount Noddy and, hopefully, connect these pets with their future families.
I recently received the most lovely message from Aryajnana Paul Swift:
“Hi Joanna. Back in May you published on your Facebook page some photos of the beautiful Loki who was waiting for adoption at Mount Noddy.
I saw your post and followed it up. Three months on, I am pleased to say I welcomed Loki into my home last week, having adopted him. Such a beautiful being.
If I had not seen your post I would never have discovered such a beautiful new companion. I am very grateful to you for posting your photos of him. I hope I can give him a better life going forward than the one he’s had. He so deserves it.
Adorable photos taken by Paul of Bhodi in his new home
”I lost my previous dog, a golden retriever, who died aged 15. In our last few years we’d stay regularly in an Airbnb lodge near Mount Noddy. I’d always thought it was such a funny name. Losing him broke my heart.
When I saw that Loki was at Mount Noddy rescue centre, I was just struck by the coincidence. Maybe even a sign. Who knows. I feel very privileged to have adopted such a lovely being.
I changed Loki’s name to Bodhi. I’m a Buddhist and his name means Enlightenment. It feels much more positive for a new life ahead!”
Paul’s email really moved me, and I’m so grateful he took the time to reach out. If you’re reading this post and would like to find out more about Mount Noddy and their animals available for adoption, click on the link below:
