This is the original client photo - Even with it’s distracting background, Jo created a beautiful framed portrait

Paws & Reflect Is For You If...

You’ve lost a companion who can never be replaced, and the photos you treasure are tucked away on your phone or in a drawer. You long to see their face each day — on your wall, your sideboard, somewhere that feels like home — but your photo isn’t perfect.

Yet that photo holds your heart — And that’s what matters.

From that imperfect, perfect photo, Jo will respectfully create painted art that takes your breath away — that you can admire and reflect on your life together.

Why I am offering this service in addition to my photography sessions

At events, I often meet grieving pet owners who show me mobile photos they adore, hoping I can restore them. It breaks my heart to say a blurry or grainy image can’t be improved. That has stayed with me.

Painted portraits changes that — they let me turn even imperfect photos into meaningful tributes. If you no longer have the chance for a photography session, I can still help you honour your pet with a piece that brings comfort, joy, and lasting connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your portrait initial proof will be available to view within 1–2 weeks (depending on your requirements and revision requests).

You may ask for up to 3 revisions to ensure your portrait is exactly as you want it.

  • Absolutely. I offer portraits with a white background and will just feature the animal.

Alternatively I can create a background that either blends with the colours of the pet or create a blend of the colours in the background.

I can also remove collars and harnesses upon request. Be sure to mention this when we discuss your commission

  • I create all of my portraits digitally using a piece of software on an iPad and Apple Pencil.

They look incredibly realistic and are very long lasting. The portraits are printed on high quality photo paper and you can elect to have a flat paper or canvas look. Painting this way offers many more options that you don’t have with traditional painting.

  • This is a difficult question to answer as it depends on a number of factors — budget, taste, where the artwork will be displayed, how many pets are being featured — the list is long.

The A4 and the Square 10×10 are my most popular sizes as both work well not only for a wall, shelf or desk.

If you have a larger wall space, the A3 will fit a standard frame, suitable for a large single dog or a double portrait with up to 2 dogs. There are also custom options available.

I’m very happy to advise you on print sizes, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have questions or would a custom quote.

  • I only offer 4 commissions a month and always prioritise clients whose pet has passed away.

If you would like a portrait of your living pet, I can add you to my waiting list and if I have any free spaces, I work through that list. Get in touch if you would like to be added to my list.

  • A 50% deposit is payable on acceptance of the commission, with the balance on completion of your portrait – I will send you a photo of the drawing to ensure you are totally happy with what I have created before accepting final payment.

Payment is via bank transfer, credit card, or cash (if collecting).

I do offer a money back guarantee if you dont love your portrait after any requested revisions, I’ll refund the deposit,
